# Data Coop

DataCircle is building a data cooperative where members pool resources to maintain a continuously refreshed B2B leads database.

## How it works

LinkedIn profiles are scraped weekly using [HarvestAPI](https://apify.com/harvestapi/linkedin-profile-search) (a live LinkedIn API). This produces fresh job title, company, and contact data every week, meaning job changes are detected within days, not months.

## Why a coop?

Traditional data providers charge thousands per month for data that's refreshed quarterly at best. By pooling resources:

* **Lower cost per member** - splitting the refresh cost across many members makes weekly refreshes affordable
* **Better data quality** - more frequent refreshes mean fewer stale records
* **Community-driven priorities** - members vote on which segments to refresh and expand
* **Aligned incentives** - everyone benefits when the data gets better
